Hexter Hawks October 2024 Newsletter
Message from the President

Howdy Hawks,

October is gearing up to be a truly SPOOKTACULAR month! There are a lot of really fun volunteer events coming down the pipeline, as well as our school's first Lunch (or brunch, depending on the grade) with a Loved One on October 4th.

Did anyone notice the return of a big, orange friend of ours to the front lawn of the school? That's right! The Hexter Howl is BACK on October 26th, and planning is well underway. Our Chair, Rachel, along with her Committee, has been hard at work to making this an event to remember! Make sure you check out our great pumpkin, scan the QR and check out all the awesome volunteer opportunities we have!

We LOVE hearing from Hexter families. If you ever have a suggestion or an idea, a proposal for the budget, or just a comment, feel free to reach out to me at, hexterhawkpta@gmail.com

As always, we encourage all families to join the PTA. If you haven't joined us yet, the link is listed just below. Being a PTA member doesn't mean you have to volunteer, its just one way that you can show your support for what we're doing!

Have a HEXELLENT October!

Meet Deanna Smith, our Lead Custodian

What is your favorite thing about Hexter?  I love the students!

What do you love about being a custodian?   I get to be the first to get in the building to make sure everyone that enters will be safe and well taken care of.

What are your favorite things to do on your days off?   Relax and spend time with my family.  Our days together are Sundays.

Volunteer of the Month

Meet our Hexter volunteer of the month: Kirk Graham!  Throughout the school year, Kirk volunteers his time at Hexter events and he recently took over as Hexter Dad's Club President. Here are a few words from Kirk.

I enjoy giving back to an awesome school that does so much for our children. I have been part of Hexter dad's club since our 3rd grader Sabine was in Kindergarten; taking over as president was the next step to make sure Hexter, and the PTA get all the assistance they need and to make sure Hexter events are special and run smoothly.  The club wears many hats; we assist with the setup, tear down of Hexter events, garden work, and whatever is needed to fill in the gaps…and to balance that out we get together for a Dad's happy hour a few times a year.
