Hexter Hawks March 2026 Newsletter

💙New Year, New Adventure! Elevating the Hexter Experience.

Message from the President

February was an incredible month for our Hexter community, highlighted by one of our biggest and most successful events of the year — the Hexter Silent Auction at Culpepper’s. It was an amazing evening filled with community, generosity, and fun, and a true reflection of what makes Hexter so special. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and helped bring the event to life. The impact of this event will be felt across our school in the months ahead.

As we look ahead to March, we have a full calendar of activities and opportunities for students and families:

  • Monday, March 2: Read Across America – Book Character Dress Up Day

  • Friday, March 6: Lunch with a Loved One

  • Wednesday, March 11: Talent Show Auditions (4:00–5:30 PM)

  • Friday, March 13: Coffee with the Principal (8:10–9:00 AM)

  • March 16–20: Spring Break

  • March 23–27: Spring Book Fair

  • Wednesday, March 25: Kinder Round Up (5–7 PM) & Spirit Night at Birdie’s Eastside

  • Thursday, March 26: World Epilepsy Day (Wear Purple)

  • Friday, March 27: Fashion Friday & Hexter Talent Show (6:00 PM)

Please note: there will be no General PTA Meeting in March.

Looking a bit further ahead, we encourage everyone to mark their calendars for an important moment in our PTA calendar:

PTA Board Elections – Thursday, April 16
Join us at the April General Meeting to cast your vote for the 2026–27 PTA Board. If you are interested in getting more involved, whether through a board role or by chairing a committee, we would love to hear from you. Our PTA thrives because of the strength and involvement of our parent community.

Thank you again for your continued support of Hexter. The energy and engagement across our families make a meaningful difference for our students and staff every single day.

Howdy Hexter!

🎉 A Big Shout-Out to Kelsey Vigilante and Our Incredible Volunteers! 🎉

We are so grateful to Kelsey Vigilante and every volunteer who played a part in making our Howdy Hexter Auction such a huge success! Your time, energy, and dedication truly made the night unforgettable.

The proceeds from the auction directly support the many programs that enhance and enrich our children’s educational experience — and that impact will be felt all year long.

Volunteer of the Month

Our Hexter Volunteer of the Month is Thomas Moisuk! Thomas truly steps up for Hexter, generously sharing his carpentry and accounting skills, volunteering at events, and most mornings helping keep the AM drop-off line safe and running smoothly. Known by some staff as the “school husband” for building and assembling everything from coat racks to carts and desks, Thomas says what makes volunteering special is the staff’s appreciation and the kids’ silliness—especially when he makes them laugh by talking like Stitch in car line. He’s also the guy who enjoys sharpening kitchen knives, sewing, visiting national parks, cooking, and even once jumped out of airplanes in the Army!

Next Spirit Night: 3/25 at Birdies

Spotlight on WRHT

The White Rock Home Tour was founded in 2006 by a group of dedicated Hexter parents who beautifully combined their love of Mid-Century Modern architecture with their commitment to supporting Hexter Elementary in Old Lake Highlands. What began as a passion project has grown into a celebrated community tradition.

The tour honors the untold stories of two visionary Dallas architects from the 1950s whose innovative mid-century designs helped shape the northeast side of White Rock Lake. Their architectural legacy continues to define the character and charm of our neighborhood.

This year, we are proud to showcase six remarkable homes, each offering a distinct glimpse into the brilliance of mid-century and modern design. Excitingly, for the first time ever, the tour will feature three Ju-Nel homes — a rare and special highlight you won’t see on any other tour.

Beyond the homes themselves, the White Rock Home Tour brings together a vibrant community of design enthusiasts who appreciate the beauty of our neighborhood and believe in supporting the thriving schools that enrich it.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the White Rock Home Tour is how it unites people from across Dallas–Fort Worth and beyond. It is a celebration of exceptional architecture — and a powerful way to support the deserving students and teachers of Hexter Elementary.

Hey Hawks! 🦅

We can’t believe it, but there are only a few months left in the school year — which means Teacher Appreciation Week is right around the corner! 🎉

We’re putting together a small but mighty team to help make the week of May 5th extra special for our incredible staff. If you’d like to help (either in the weeks leading up to it or during the week itself), please reach out to Hexterhawkptahospitality@gmail.com.

✨ Double bonus if you have local connections who would love to help us spoil our teachers and staff!

We also want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated snacks to the Lounge. Y’all are amazing — the treats just keep coming, and our staff is so grateful. Thank you for helping us show the love! 💛
