Hexter Hawks April 2026 Newsletter

💙New Year, New Adventure! Elevating the Hexter Experience.

Message from the President

Hello Hexter Hawks,

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break! It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into the final stretch of the school year.

As a quick reminder, we did not hold a General PTA Meeting in March. We’re looking forward to reconnecting with everyone at our April meeting as we head into a very important and exciting month for our community.

April brings one of the highlights of our year—the White Rock Home Tour (April 25 + 26) our largest fundraiser supporting Hexter Elementary. This event plays a critical role in funding programs, resources, and experiences for our students and teachers. To make it a success, we need your help! Volunteer opportunities are available across a variety of roles, and we’d love for you to get involved and be part of what makes this event so special.

We will also hold our PTA Board Member elections for the 2026–2027 school year at our upcoming General Meeting this month. Your participation is important as we help shape the leadership and direction of our PTA for the year ahead.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support, energy, and commitment to our Hexter community. We’re grateful for each of you and all that you do to make Hexter such a special place.

See you soon,

Sean Granfield
PTA President, Hexter Elementary

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you to our amazing volunteers for making the Hexter Silent Auction a big success! Our events and fundraisers are only possible because of the support of our Hexter families and community—we truly appreciate you.

There are more ways to get involved this month and support our teachers, staff, and students at Hexter Elementary.

6th Grade Dance & Social — April 10
Our Hawks are getting ready for a fun night, and we need your help:

The White Rock Home Tour event runs April 25 & 26 and we need multiple volunteers at five homes on the tour.  The WRHT is one of our biggest annual fundraisers the PTA holds for Hexter Elementary.  This is a fun and unique way for you to support Hexter.  Feel free to invite family and friends to volunteer too!

Volunteer of the Month: Kathy Trobee

Kathy is an incredible volunteer who generously supports PTA events and classrooms, making a meaningful impact on our students and the entire Hexter community.

Why do you volunteer at Hexter?
Hexter has been such a great school for my daughter (and soon my son). I love the staff and am grateful it’s our neighborhood school. I admire the many dedicated volunteers and am happy to contribute to keeping Hexter a great place.

What makes volunteering at Hexter different?
The social aspect is a big benefit. It’s fun to get to know teachers, staff, and other parents, and it’s helped my family feel more connected to both the school and the neighborhood.

Favorite volunteer moment this year?
Helping with my daughter’s Christmas party was a highlight and a special way to close out time at the old school. Watching the third graders’ gift swap and seeing their excitement in giving and receiving was especially memorable.

PTA Nominations Needed!

We have several openings on the PTA Executive Board for the 2026–2027 school year, and we are looking for interested parents who would like to get involved in this way.

The Nominating Committee’s role is to identify and recommend candidates for each board position. The committee can submit one nominee per position, and those nominees are then presented to PTA members for approval by vote at the election meeting on April 16.

If you’d like to nominate someone—or if you are interested in serving yourself—you can let us know by filling out this form.  The form will close on April 2nd.  If you are not selected as the committee’s nominee for a position, you are still welcome to nominate yourself or be nominated by someone else at the April 16 election meeting.
